Ludlow Vineyard & Distillery Shop

Sorry, we are currently closed while we carry out a re-organisation of our business.  We will be open again soon.

Why is our Whisky so good?

We have a small copper pot still with a refining column which makes our spirits extremely smooth and sweet.  Then we quarter-fill barrels (a mix of used bourbon barrels and re-charred old whisky barrels).  This makes the whisky age more quickly.

Our wines have often won medals at the GB Wine awards.  Our whisky, Young Prince, was awarded a Bronze at the London Spirits Competition in 2019.

About Us

Mike Hardingham

We started planting vines herein 1995.  We are on the lower slopes of Brown Clee hill, so our altitude means that the vines have rather small yields, which helps the flavour and quality.  We added a distillery in 2009 to make brandy, then we discovered we could make rather good whisky here as well!

We are tucked away in the Shropshire Hills near Ludlow.  We are not open to the public (too busy tending our vines and distilling whisky).  Our products are available at Ludlow Food Centre, at Bentley's in the centre of Ludlow, and at Wrekin Whiskies in Shrewsbury.  Further South, at the Hop Pocket at Bishop's Frome.
